TrainGame Proof of Concept

Inspired by the game Collosatron by Halfbrick, this demo is a proof of concept creating it in Godot in a household toy train setting. The train has functional carts with weapons, color and tier combining, and basic map objectives and enemies.

I had more ideas for this game but I didn't end up deciding to put the time into it to make it a fully releasable game. It would be fun to revisit this project in the future and make it a more proper game with levels and game play loop.

Potential Game Ideas:

  • World 1 Bedroom, introduce more enemies, environments like the iconic car mat, and some miniboss at the end like a dollhouse with a bunch of dolls throwing things at the train
  • World 2 Bathroom, the main enemy are rubber ducks, floating boat toys, with environmental hazards like paper or water. Miniboss is in the bathtub (like an arena) fighting some large toy enemy
  • World 3+, settings like living area (couches, tv), front room (piano, art, desk), craft room (origami and supplies), attic (dust and old toys) and a final final boss being an orange cat which will bat the train around and eventually scurry off after taking enough damage.
